  In town for a funeral, we gathered to say goodbye to a cherished family member who'd been a member of this church for quite some time. Very professional staff. The Pastor, however, was extremely disappointing. Instead of eulogizing my brother-in-law, he repetitiously sermonized about "hope" (English definition) vs. "hope" (Greek definition). This went on for over an hour. Painful to listen to, painful to watch. It would have been wonderful to hear a personalized story about the deceased, i.e., eu·lo·gy -- a speech or piece of writing that praises someone or something highly, typically someone who has just died. Sometimes keeping it simple is the best way to go.
